Your Machu Picchu team!

April 2026 see's our intrepid explorers take off for another hiking challenge!

This year, our team, led by Poppy's Dad Peter Eagle, and brother Oliver Eagle, includes fellow previous Kilimanjaro hikers Phil Ingamells and Ted Boyle, they are joined by Justin Lockwood, Ewan Borthwick and Kevin Howes.

The Magnificent Seven are taking on one of the world’s most iconic adventures, trekking the legendary Inca Trail up 7972ft to the breathtaking citadel of Machu Picchu, we are trekking in memory of Poppy, who died from undiagnosed CPVT after collapsing during exercise, a red flag that should always prompt deeper questions.

Over four unforgettable days, we’ll hike through clouds, forests, climb high mountain passes, and follow ancient stone pathways carved by the Inca civilization centuries ago. We’ll push ourselves to new limits, battling altitude, steep ascents, and sore legs, all for something far bigger than the summit.

At sunrise on the final day, we’ll walk through the Sun Gate and catch our first glimpse of Machu Picchu emerging from the mist, a moment that symbolizes resilience, hope, and the power of community.

We’re not just trekking for the views. We’re trekking to make a difference.

Through Poppy’s Light Foundation, we aim to reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death by embedding the POPPY Check in clinical practice:

P – Presenting with syncope or collapse
O – Occurring during or after exertion
P – Personal or family cardiac history
P – Potential inherited arrhythmia
Y – Yield to escalation, not reassurance

and for Inherited Cardiac Conditions to be added to the existing newborn screening pathway.

Identify, Support, Live.

Every donation supports specialist family support, clinical education, and policy reform.

12 young people die every week from an undiagnosed cardiac condition.

Every step we take on the trail is powered by your support. Your donations will help us turn this once-in-a-lifetime challenge into meaningful impact for those who need it most.

Please sponsor our journey and help turn awareness into prevention.

Help us transform miles into momentum, altitude into action, and adventure into lasting change.

Together, we climb for Poppy and for every young person in support of their routine cardiac health.
