Poppy’s Light Foundation was founded in our daughter Poppy’s honour, with the hope of turning heartbreak into something that could help others. Poppy died from undiagnosed CPVT after collapsing during exercise, a red flag that should always prompt deeper questions 🚩
Through Poppy’s Light Foundation, we aim to reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death by embedding the POPPY Check in clinical practice:
P – Presenting with syncope or collapse
O – Occurring during or after exertion
P – Personal or family cardiac history
P – Potential inherited arrhythmia
Y – Yield to escalation, not reassurance
and for Inherited Cardiac Conditions to be added to the existing newborn screening pathway.
